I guess I will be. 🙄 Second Black Australorp on a nest. Total of four sitting hens now. Gonna be eating a lot of chicken, is all I can say...
:highfive: You are now officially part of the Broody Club. Mine should be hatching chicks this weekend. I think the Cochins are a week behind the bantam Brahma. My Muscovy is hatching chickens 🤣

I want a Muscovy. 😢😢😢 I'm not excited about trying to hatch shipped Muscovy eggs, though. Plus, I HAVE TOO MANY BIRDS ALREADY. 😳

She’s the only one I have. She’s been living with the chickens her whole life since I got her at a swap. They would even cuddle with her. Her sister had a spinal injury we didn’t know about when we bought her. We had to mercy kill her.

I’ll have to get you a pic of Coco. You’ll want a Muscovy after you see her. She has blue and green wings in the sun. She’s the one everyone wants to have when they come to the house. I’ll sell her for a million 😂

My shipped eggs arrived yesterday and I’ve seen one detached air cell and I think a few saddled ones. I decided to incubate them all in an egg carton instead of laying on their sides, and not turn them for the first 7 days. They only travelled from 2 hours away but must have been jostled pretty well. Oh well. We will see if any hatch! I set them today.

I hope you get some babies and all goes well!^^

I will hatch some brown leghorns and brown leghorn mixes. I am deciding if I will sell them or not.
I can't wait until tomorrow! And after tomorrow, I can't wait for the 4th of July! I have all my eggs ready for the incubator!

:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate

My 2nd shipment of July eggs arrived today! Combination of Blue Birchen Marans eggs and Opal Legbar eggs. Best packing ever!!! Soooooo much time and effort went into packing these eggs! each egg was wrapped in a long length of bubble wrap and secured with an easy to tear priority mail sticker and then a packing peanut was inserted on each open end to help hold the egg in place. They were shipped on their sides (but made it here quickly) in rows of 2. Bottom layer and top layer - top layer was offset instead of directly on top of the egg below with packing peanuts to fill in the open space. Box inside a box that used air pillows and styrofoam slabs to keep everything steady. And the best part.....it was advertised as 9 eggs in the ebay sale.....but.....They sent 14!!! 5 extras!!! Air cells are in pretty good shape in most of them! I have 2 very intact side air cells (like they formed that way) in the legbar eggs and 1 completely detached air cell and 1 saddle air cell in the Marans eggs. The rest of the air cells are just slightly jiggly.
