So I got some EE eggs free from a friend of a friend. They were pretty dirty so I cleaned them with hydrogen peroxide. Just barely brushed them off. They will be ok right? They are beautiful big blue eggs so I am so looking forward to what comes out.

I will take a small piece of fine grit sandpaper and gently rub the worst of it off (like the chunks) and then spray with hydrogen peroxide and let it dry (no rubbing). I have not had any trouble doing it this way.

Idk, I think mine pooped way more than my chicken chicks ever did. I clean the brooder and two seconds later it’s filthy again 😂🤣

Can't be worse than ducks! 🤣

I just leave them and never had issues. It’s what they say to do with waterfowl eggs so figure it’s no different for chicken. Mine never get dirty usually even with the feathered feet and leg chickens. My chickens like to keep a clean house lol
I never wash mine either. Even the duck eggs go in as they are and that's not always pretty, but it works!

Kind of a weird thing... My ducks are co-brooding a nest of what started out as 16 eggs. We're in the home stretch and I noticed last week there were 14. Yesterday 10 and now today there are 9 left. This is my first time with broody ducks. What the heck??
My chicken and duck are co-brooding duck eggs. I think they’re fertile because the egg weight has changed a lot.

I wash hatching eggs if they're dirty. Gently and only the dirty spots, then disinfect with gold listerne/water 50:50 in a spray mist bottle. Works for me... If they're my own I just chooseclean ones, but when you paid a bunch of money, you want set anything that's viable at all.

Thank you for that!
I cannot use hydrogen peroxide anywhere in the house (or even OxyClean products) because kiddo is severely allergic so have been wondering what else I could use if I wanted to spray eggs with something.

1/2 original Lysterine and half water. It’s a bath and a spray.
