It is not a guarantee that you will have to butcher because of Mareks... Some can build immunity to it, I am just unsure how. I know there is a way but I have never dealt with it so I have never really dug deep into it.
That’s good to know! I was more just meaning I would have to butcher the extra cockerels though since I can’t sell them and pass it on to someone else. I will keep the pullets and see what happens. Jack is doing well so far.

You might get some that are half lav and half the mothers color. That is what happened with some of my polish deathlayers. I have insane coloring on some of my chicks it is almost unbelievable who their parents are.
That would be amazing!!! From what I understand though Lav is recessive because it’s a dilution gene? So not sure if it would show or not but maybe I’d get some regular blue lol

Right I'm not going to go into that 2nd egg. I know yawning means it's still absorbing. Like I said, it seemed to settle down after I poked through the membrane directly under the shell (Not the chorioallantoic sac) But rather the outer membrane directly under the shell.
So No rush on that one, no worries either. My only curiosity is if there's some malposition that prevents them from fully extending their little necks. The only ones I know well are the typical minor ones and the two big ones of wrong end and facing away from the air sac.
So I'm kind of fishing for ideas as to whether or not it's a malposition or if maybe these are just call ducks.
I'm replying to help keep your post from getting missed by some. I really hope you get some answers (and live ducklings)!
They make me want to get a house with a pond (or room for a man-made pond).

I have no idea anything on coloring. I just wing it every time I cross my purebreds LOL
That’s what I’m doing LOL I don’t really mind but just curious hahah I think I read the first gen would be split to Lav but not actually show the Lav unless bred back to a Lav parent but

BUT!!!

I’m pretty sure that Peach is also Lavender or at least carries a dilution gene (she’s def not blue) soooooo I hope that there will be at least some Lav babies :fl

Thanks.
I'm curious if it's a case of feet above head. Either that or these are just call ducks mixed with the other feral ducks running around.
I could use some indications to help me identify it better...
