So pretty! Iridescence isn't as instantly showy, but it's so beautiful. :love
She just started getting the iridescence this month. I love how the RSL color pops up randomly in spots. This is the only BJG offspring I have left. It was an egg that had been sitting for a month and I just said what the heck when I threw it in.

I’m glad she hatched!!! She’s so friendly.

It will be fine. Though it would be cool if it pooped a rainbow!
It could become the new spokeschick for Skittles.

Aloha gang,
Got my first pipping yesterday morning and first hatch @ 10pm last night. 3 more hatched by 2:30am this morn and now @ 7:30am I see 3 more pipping. I am relieved. Our electric went out for more than a few hours on the 4th so, I took over wo-manually for lockdown because of the electrical reset and timing being off. Of course I had not written start date down... nice to have such a great memory 😖 so I locked down a day early... all seems well despite my imperfections. I'd make a lousy hen.

5 out of five eggs hatched from this last batch:
4 of my own
1 creve egg that got thrown in after sitting around for a bit-needed an assist it was a narrow egg, which is why I (edit) I chose to leave it out initially when I ran out of room in the bater.

@FortCluck It is so cool that she came out of a month old egg. And I really like the peek a boo colors.

@TropicalBabies Yay for baby chicks :) They always prove themselves a little more resilient than I imagine them to be. I would make a pretty bad hen too I am afraid. I have to set reminders on my phone calendar to go off on important days. :lau

@SnapdragonQ I will let you know how the delawares do. I was sort of planning the same thing with the bieles and delawares. Hold back a few hens and cross them with the bieles see what happens?? We just got set up for processing and this is our trial run essentially. I would love to take those partridge rocks off your hands! Though I will be in the same predicament as you in a few weeks when all these grow out. Going to have to build another coop and run here soon.

On a side note. Murray McMurray has Saxony ducks, Appleyards and Harlequin in again! I am going to try again to get my flock through them this time.

Woah, you are tempting me to give those quail a try. I shared your experiences and pictures with a friend recently and she is seriously considering as well! I can't believe how quick they mature.
They’re amazing. I love them a lot. They’re so funny. They’re learning how to use water cups and it’s been quite funny. They think I have to hold the valve every time instead of them doing the work 😂 I call them little weirdos
