Adorable!! Is she a speckled Sussex? That’s what I’m hoping to hatch to add to my flock next year

Jack is officially a father!! Freckles hatched out two adorable little fluff balls today and another egg is pipped. so far we have one Easter Egger/Lavender Orpington mix and one White Leghorn/Lavender Orpington mix. The other pipped egg is another Leghorn mix. Freckles has been such a good mama so far.

Some of today's hatch. 4 more eggs pipped hours ago after the first 5 hatched but now all is quiet. I am getting worried... guess that is normal I also have my first curled toes on a smaller more fragile looking chick. That one was the last and has not seemed to spap into it like the others, though I taped it's foot and hope for the best.

Here are some of my May 27th hatch helping out in the garden... All of my June 24 hatch have been homed so I do not get to see them grow

Went to assist an egg that hadn’t hatched and in the process the quail chick died. It was barely moving to begin with. It was one of my celadon eggs

I think I lost track of posting what all I was hatching here in late July. I kind of went on a shopping spree and came really close to buying more than my 2 incubators will hold. (Oops!)

CCLs are in the hatcher due the 23rd. I have 1 Blue laced barnevelder due the 27th. 5 BCM due the 28th. And I will know on the 24th how many Wheaten Marans I have....but not too hopeful on that batch as there was quite a bit of air space in the box and it got shaken around pretty good in transport.

I was not planning on hatching in August.....but some of my eggs were pre-sales and shipped later than I thought....so I have quite a few in the incubator for August. I will post that list on the August thread.

17 made to lockdown, 13 hatched. 5 pipped at the narrow end. one of them died after pipping. One got out but died over night and one is very weak so will likely pass too. I tried to get some cute pics but... the aquarium had too much glare, and well this is the result of trying to take one from the inside.

If the kids don't go back to school in August then I will more than likely be in the September HAL too. We are having behavioral problems with my almost 14 year old daughter that are completely stressing me out (part of why I have been a little MIA lately). When I get stressed I tend to shop. And right now.....I prefer to shop for chicken eggs. LOL.
