July Hatch-a-Long (including 4th of July hatch-a-long)

I got a surprise yesterday and wanted to share with you guys. One of my chickens laid this "first" egg yesterday that looks so much like the blue bell egg, but that one didn't hatch??? No idea which of my pullets laid this, but it looks so much like the Isbar/Silverudd Blue??

Well, I'm late it seems, sorry about that. My broody hatched out her eggs on the 24th, a day early. 6 surviving chicks, and one very surprising silver-grey one out of my Dominique crosses!

Out of curiosity, what is the cross? I love me some silver chicks.

I just got a call from your unhatched quail. They would prefer you to sit on your hands and wait.

That does look a lot like an Isbar/Silverudd egg. It is beautiful!

This picture made me laugh. This poor quail is so lonely. I think it’s a boy because it is always yelling at me. The boy quail love me lol. They’re always crowing and coming to see me when I’m in the aviary.

I never name quail, but I have named this one Sonic... it’s super fast. It must eat its wheaties for breakfast
