June Hatch A Long

Pics
Due to the move. I worked all day yesterday and when got home at 10pm I went to see how she was doing. All the eggs we're cold so I candled them and they had no movement at all. I checked a few times to be sure but nothing. I just hope she doesn't move again

I tend to find at least with the birds I had in the past either they are great broodies or horrible. There doesn't seem to be an in between. Usually if a hen starts acting wishy washy on her eggs I would take them from her and finish incubating and not let her sit anymore.

@LilyD is that bottom middle x progressing? It looks like a real pip not a safety hole. But maybe my eyes are clearer now than they were last night. ;)

They all are jumping around like mad this morning so I have a feeling we are going to have some babies by tonight. The safety hole I made in that egg the shell didn't break all the way off so it's still kind of hanging there but yup I made that one too. Thinking they are getting ready for the external pip though and that's what's making the eggs rock so much.

Got my eggs in today to swap out under my broody tonight. Sent me three extras. The air cells look wonderful in the ones I checked. Fingers crossed! I did take one from her last night when she got out to eat, it was cracked when I checked them. Didn't seem to bother her which makes me hopeful that putting these in will go well.

Awesome! Working on coffee and feeding then I’m off to check on things, there’s a strong possibility that my little helper will beat me to it though I’m holding off texting her moms phone due to the whole just getting light out thing! Thank you all for being here, after my last attempt at hatching I really need this one to turn out well for my sanity... and I’m still so inexperienced! Coffee is life, at least for the next few days I think.

:caf We were all there at some point ourselves! Hatching chicks is a wonderful experience but it can be nerve-wracking when you're new and don't know what to look for! I had an experienced friend that I was texting into all hours of the night during my first hatching experience! Haha, what would we do without our hatching gurus? :highfive:
Fingers crossed for lots of peeps throughout your day today! :fl

I have 6 fully hatched chicks out... one has her daddy’s feathered feet even! Five are quite yellow, but one is darker. I had a panic when I saw a yellow goopy but on the leg of one, but it was just shell goop none are quite as vocal as that first one was... shelf liner 100% awesome over paper towels. 6 more solid pips. One of my Columbia Rock eggs has pipped. I’m still waiting on any signs from my Marans.
