June Hatch A Long

Pics
I found myself perusing the Ebay postings for hatching eggs lol. That was when I knew I was in trouble. I went to get out my incubators and realized I had two digital Hovabators instead of one but for the life of me I didn't remember buying a second one hehe. Let's see the turner holds 42 eggs so that's 84 total at a time right ;)

All but one of my incubators is smaller, so I'm LIMITED to 113 eggs, lol. My Little Giant is just an overflow incubator though so I guess I should stop at 71...:lau
I have looked at eBay several times, which is silly because I'm within driving distance of any chicken breed I could possibly want but I can't seem to stop myself from browsing!

Welp I’ve found my people.
Most definitely! I'm so glad I picked the best group to be my first official hatch-a-long!:celebrate:highfive:

For sure love this group glad I decided to join it. You guys are the best. :jumpy

Living up north I have to take what I can find locally it's hard to ship eggs up here I've done it a few times but usually have very poor outcomes. I have a Little Giant too (Did I forget that one?) I hardly ever use it anymore because I like the digital ones so much better. Looking at the new incubators everyone is posting though makes me want to upgrade or maybe add to my current hatchers lol. Can you ever have to many chickens?

I had to hide those egg auction pages on my Facebook feed.

I have a little giant I keep setup for hatch in case I need it. I don’t know why or what I would do with it but I do it. I figure if someone pops out early in a crowded incubator it may help.

The unfortunate part is after my two previous hatches and just tinkering with it I feel like I have it down now, so I may be in trouble. I can just see it filled with duck eggs when I get my own. :idunno

My niece is saving me 40 eggs from her new ducks so I can hatch them out. Ready for a July hatch along?

I'm in Georgia, lots and lots of eggs down here just begging to be shipped to you! I was just reading about the double boxing method to keep eggs safe during shipment. I should totally test it out and ship some eggs to you, lol. I just need to figure out what certifications I need. ;)

If you should give in to the desire to get a new incubator I'm in love with my Nurture Right 360s (yes, plural, I have 2). I'm also using an IncuView now and after calibrating it I'm pretty happy so far and the turner works with more egg sizes.

YES! I should confess I'm already talking to someone about an assortment of English Orpington eggs. They're one of my favorite breeds and he has Jubilee/Blue Jubilee, Red/Red Cuckoo, Blue Silver Partridge, Chocolate Mottled, Blue/Black/Splash, and Crele...and I'm pretty sure I need one of each. :D

This is a really great group. Makes me sad I am in my first week of incubating my duck eggs. But I am a duckie person.

Any one ever heard the phantom peeps from the incubator when your nearing lockdown?

I'm only on day 6 with my Mallards and chicken eggs! My goslings should make an appearance next week though. I don't judge people by their poultry of choice :lau. I love them all equally, I just only keep chickens at my house because of space but one day I'll move so I can change that. lol

The 5 chicks I have currently in the barn that are 12 days old are Chocolate Mottled. These are their parents. Totally in love with them they are so so friendly and love being with people fingers crossed I have 3 girls at least and a boy. It was a toss up for me between these guys and the blue Jubilees I actually had the Jubilees ordered and then when my friend said she would hatch me some mottled I decided to wait on them. I don't think I'll order hatchery stock again for orps these guys are so friendly it puts them to shame.
