June Hatch A Long

@LilyD , I can not tell you how grateful I am that you shared your live feed with us. Now that I'm sitting here minimally assisting my goslings I feel much more comfortable with the whole scenario because of watching you do it! I've helped chicks but in general I know their timeframe and everything better. I feel so much better because I watched your hatch!

Hello :frow
I had eggs hatch the 3rd of June and more due the 28th of June :)

D'Uccle eggs. Mille Fleur.

I loved that live feed. I was on a work trip and kept obsessively checking it! I was so sad when it came down... Whom here is next to offer their live feed? You could do pay per view and make some $$$...

I second LilyD's list! I keep a very similar kit on hand!
- Q-tips
- Thin Tweezers
- Little Medical Kit Scissors
- A metal cuticle pusher (I think, it's a slightly pointed metal thing but not sharp and whatever it is has really come in handy)
- A Push Pin (if you need to make a safety hole)
- Antibiotic Ointment (WITHOUT pain reliever)
- Nutridrench for poultry
- Alcohol Swabs (to wipe off the tools before and after each use)
- Coconut oil
- Paper Towels

I don't have any betadine but I may have to change that!

Thank you I totally forgot the screw I have a very small screw to make a safety hole if needed. I like screw versus pin because with the threads it won't push past where I want it. I usually always have papertowels and small cups and tissues so I didn't add those. What do you use the cuticle pusher for?

Hehe I was using my cell phone and doing it off there. Working on setting up a camera for that purpose and might have to get a few outdoor cameras for the brooders too lol. It was a lot of fun and actually was very handy because I could be off working on other things and check on the babies without being right on top of them the whole time.

It has come weirdly in handy for me opposed to using tweezers or when gently making a hole wider after using the pin, especially when making an external pip near the beak/bill because it's not sharp so I'll score the shell with my pin and then switch to the blunt pointed tool that I'm calling a cuticle pusher because there's less risk of me hurting the bitty. I really like the screw idea though! I'll keep that in mind!

I have live set up with a top view incubator. I could do it if y'all wanted on hatch day.

YES!! Yes, please! :celebrate I was absolutely addicted to watching LilyD's hatch! The live feed is the best! I'm going to try to get a camera set up as well if you recommend a camera to use for live feed let me know because I'm completely new to it, other than enjoying watching. lol
