Anyone know if a chick hatched from a blue egg... is their a chance it will lay blue eggs?

Yes, there's a chance. When the blue gene is present it's possible to get blue, green, or whatever color the rooster is providing.

The layer is blue and I think the dads were brown layers (Jersey Giant and Barred rock)

Lol, you need a paper calendar. So you can write it down wrong like I do.

Notice, lots of white out and arrows because I somehow was a day off, LOL! I think the summer heat is melting my brain.

I imagine that blue would be a recessive trait so would probably depend on if the sire had any blue genetics in his background. It's an interesting question. I'll have to look into the genetics of egg color.

I'm wondering this too. In the bator I have 5 bright blue eggs from my Ameraucana hen crossed with my Australorp roo and am insanely curious what color any pullets will eventually lay.
I started with a dozen Hoover Hatchery "Ameraucana" chicks and all the hens gave bright blue eggs until I was hit last summer by several predators in the same week. Only have the one left but I know all her hatchmates were as strong of blue eggs as hers.

At my last farm I had some higher end blue Ameraucanas from a local farm and the egg colors were strong and true. The birds were beatiful shades of blues, lavenders, and greys.

With tan you may end up with a light green, aka Easter Egger. Olive eggers are usually from dark brown eggs layers like Marans or Welsummers crossed with a blue egg layer in their first generation. Furthre generations you can continue to manipulate the shades of green that you get but when fiddling with egg colors it's always a surprise.

This is my Not-so-Olive-Egger. She lays a dusty brown to pinkish egg and came from a Marans over Ameraucana cross much like the hatch I'm doing this month too!
