It is fun!! And addicting!! I did it the 1st time as I thought it would be good homeschool stuff for the kids. Now they arent much enamored with it anymore like me....lol.

Well I put eggs into lock down today from 18 turkey eggs one yes just one made it and from 7 Golden Cuckoos 5 made it so now I cannot wait for Saturday... I set 14 Silver Penciled Rocks but 5 have detached air cells so those are in the incucube with the turner the other nine are in the regular "China" special incubator had 7 BCM and 7 GCM eggs arrive today the first batch had broken eggs and only 2 hatched so those will join the other eggs....I have replacement turkey eggs coming and some very nice Blue Coppers in the mail some more New Hampshires so I can hatch some roosters and some SQ BBS Ameraucana also this is my last hatch of the summer I promise

Really though I have enough very nice stock to be able to cull very hard and get ready for next year. I'll just be hatching my own stock thank goodness this shipping has been very tough...

Well from 8 assorted silkie eggs - 5 had nothing, 1 blood ring, 1 stopped a few days ago, 1 still going strong. I am praying for it to make it so Doodle has a buddy. He(she) is a curious one - every time I open his (or her) brooder door... right there to see what I am doing and peep at me, LOL.

I awoke today to 2 pips!!!
The one that had the largest pip hole isnt moving anymore so I think it is dead. (The membrane around the hole looks bloody so wondering if it was too soon)
The other has been zipping all day, but not making much progress.

Only 2 pips today out of the 6 that made it to lockdown (out of 12). Not great, but then again, none of my hatches are that great and I cant figure out why.

My turkey egg is still just sitting I have 2 GCM out 2 more zipping and one just sitting I wish the turkey would do something I saw it moving when I locked them down...I can never see good in the Marans eggs

Well I have 1 speckled sussex chick and no other pips from the remaining 4 eggs.
