June Hatch a Long

so i have my LG with my air cell damaged on dry air.  where then if no water im getting a humidity of 28 to 35%?  i also bought a thermometer that tells humidity and am concernd if its telling me the humidity inside the bator or of my ac room. some one out there knows.?

Your thermometer that shows humidity, does it have a probe that goes into the incubator or is the whole device inside the incubator?

Good News so far for one of my June hatches ... out of 12 assorted bantam eggs, 7 are definitely veining nicely! This is Day 6. Five are maybes, but not tossing them yet. Considering my last two hatches were total busts, this is very good news to my ears. These were eggs that were NOT shipped, and there are ZERO detached air cells, so I'm sure that is helping. I also have been able to candle a lot better this time. Having no dark or colored eggs is really helpful. Keeping my fingers crossed for the next candling session in about a week. Yay!

Next set date is June 5th. I broke down and got some shipped eggs, but not from ebay. No broken ones, but about a dozen detached air cells out of about 2 1/2 dozen. They only traveled for 48 hours, so that may help. It didn't work out for me to drive 3 hours to pick up eggs this week, so Plan B was put into place. I still may pick up some Barnevelders today that are 15 minutes from where I live, though. The shipped eggs include Cream Legbars, Barred Cochins and Blue Laced Red Wyandottes.

My main goal is to have my Navy Son's kids see a chick or two hatch when they are visiting, sototal hatch rate isn't exceptionally important to me this time. Although a female chick from each of these breeds would be a welcomed sight!

I'm feeling encouraged that this will happen!

I have cream legbars in also Blue Laced RW....wow fancy smancy! Those are expensive eggs! Hug that Navy boy for me and tell him Thanks for his Service

If it is inside the bator then its reporting on the inside of the bator, if its outside, its doing the same

OEGB eggs due to hatch this Thursday, June 6, under two broodies...

16 Lav/Split Ameraucana eggs due to hatch in the Brinsea this coming Monday, June 10 - Tuesday, June 11. They were shipped eggs, had more than a few saddled air cells, but were developing very well at 1st candling last week.

I have NOT been able to keep the humidity in that Brinsea under 57%, even dry. It's in my basement and my basement humidity reading is at 37% - I guess it's just the extra humidity being put off by the eggs developing?? Either way, I've got 2 good-sized sponges set aside and sterile ready to soak and go in the bator this Friday when we hit lockdown. I really, REALLY am hoping for a good hatch on these eggs...they're kinda special to me. :)

Good luck to everyone else here!!!

today is day five and i could not wait till Thursday to check progress. disappointed. from my 20 shipped eggs only three showed some veins and all had moving air cell.

really wanted these frizzle and silkes. bu i guess it will be an lesson to learn
