You know.......sometimers......some times I remember.....some times I don't.
Thanks for the info............Does not sound like I need to worry
Talk tomorrow

Been super busy with the garden and forgot to candle until last night (which was the right night to begin with). OEs all look good and I could actually make out good air cells in 5 out of 6 dark Marans eggs. Super excited to be testing out carton hatching in a few days! Hoping it works out better than my last hatch, which was still pretty decent for shipped eggs.

We are going to be using cartons in the incubator for the first time around too. It seems a lot of people here are using that method. One week for day 21.....

:woot

Can't control my excitement!!!

My May babies decided to be June 1 babies!!! Well, maybe June 2. But still babies!!!!

1 hatched and 1 working his way out!! (I'd post a pic but like some others have said, I can't get them to work!)

Hi all, I am hoping to join in hatching within the next week or so, probably be too late for June though

Is there a July hatch-along?

I am learning lots by reading this thread and wondered about the hatching in egg cartons so would like to ask a question if I may. If you incubate upright in a carton (airsack at top), am I correct in thinking that you don't turn the eggs at all throughout the incubation time? If my assumption is correct, does this mean you don't need to get an incubator that automatically turns the eggs (I work every day so can't turn eggs between 7.30am and 5pm) Sorry to be so dense but need to learn as hoping to get my incubator and eggs this week.

Well July for us is not underway but will most likly be soon as a few of hatchaholics just returned from a big swap in the great state of Missouri so I'm sure it will go.. As far as cartons go there are some Carton experts in the thread I am not one but am certain the turnig has to be maintained but some one I'm sure will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong good luck and welcome to the thread
