In one of my first hatches, which was many years ago, My daughter named the one that lookied like a chipmunk, "Chickmunk".
Update, (I bought a stronger flashlight today, because I couldn't see very clearly when I candled the eggs the last few times. The stronger light really helped me see in there better.)
6 Swedish Flower Hens, all moving. (Started with 7, one lost to infertility.)
2 Columbian Wyandottes that had been under my broody hen for 2 weeks. I had some issues with a broken egg, and uncovered eggs for assorted reasons, She switched nesting boxes, and that did it for me. I took the cool eggs and added them to the 'bator. Both appear to be moving tonight, I couldn't tell last night). (Started with 4, one lost to breakage, one to infertility or quit early.)
1 RIR, Heritage. (Started with 3. One appeared to be infertile, the other appears to have started but quit very early.)
So 9 eggs due to hatch in about 8 to 9 days, (The Columbian Wyandottes should be a few days earlier, if they hatch at all. I'm expecting them to be delayed because they cooled significantly at least twice that I know of.)
I'm still deciding on if I'm going to let the broody hen raise the chicks or not. I have to find a safe place to do that.
