can you?  that would be nice.  but i heard that its too hot to ship.  maybe thats live ones right? lol

What's your temp? It's been really mild here. I think we'd be okay. My fertility rate has been excellent, yay! The next 18 they lay are spoken for (perks of having a semi-rare breed) but after that they're all good to go.

Well, eggs are in lockdown. This is my first hatch, and I am now in the process of reviewing everything I could have possibly done wrong and what I should have done, and what might have worked out better. And I don't even know if anything has actually gone wrong yet.

Ugh!!! Got home a little after 6 to a house with NO POWER!!!

Super exciting day for me!! Pile it on! I can take it!!!
Several hours w/o power is okay. Some of the newer incubators actually have a cooling cycle to mimic the broody hen getting of the eggs. Good luck, I hope you aren't w/o power for long. btw, I just hatched an egg that I brought in from the coop that was quite cool after being incubated by a broody for 2 weeks. Mama hen started sitting on a nest with no eggs rather than the one that had her eggs in it. This was not the only misfortune that the egg experienced. I had found them uncovered at least once before.

I assisted a hatch on day 22. It looks like a good outcome for that one.

I have 7 eggs in the 'bator on day 19, it looks like most if not all have pipped internally, no external pips yet.

I just added a container of warm water with a sponge to the 'bator to boost the humidity. That poor chick had dried to much...

Good luck to all of you expecting hatches of the next few weeks. I can't possibly keep up with the quantity of posts that happen in this thread. Wow!

No kidding?? Jac??? Well.... WHAT did you decide???? Probably too busy herding cows to get on ByC!

LOL Nicole. I was actually tending cows today. I have our herd and then 3 small herds I manage for a lady. Her property borders ours, so it's not so bad. Well she decided she wanted a 4th herd. Had a nice bull born to a bred heifer she bought. So I spent the day cutting 12 ladies out of her largest herd, separating them, then adding a bull. After that I had to rotate pastures on everyone. At least it was a beautiful day. Not real sure about this bull yet. My other bulls are big babies, this guy has a little attitude. Nothing more dangerous than 1500 lbs of attitude!

They are sending the eggs out Saturday, so here comes my July hatch. I was really wanting to get this new incubator going! Hubby worked on it tonight. Even though its fathers day weekend, I bet he gets it going for me! I guess if I am going to ruin any eggs, might as well be free ones!
