JUNE - JULY HATCH-ALONG!!!!!!!

Pics

The first video was the egg placed in the incubator on 6/8/19, the second was 6/9/19.
Is this just random movement, or are these guys trying to pip into the aircell?
Nice! That first one sure looked to me like it was thinking about pipping! :celebrateNot as sure with the second... What day of incubation are you at?

I'm sorry you didn't have a great hatch rate but I'm happy that the chicks that have hatched so far are healthy!

If it makes you feel any better I've been doing small batch hatches since February and I've had great hatch rates until June. I wonder if it has something to do with the actual hens being under heat stress before laying the eggs? :idunno I'm about to find out because it was in the mid to high 90s for the 3 days that the eggs I'm currently incubating were collected!

So exciting to hear that your hatch is going so well!! :celebrate

I didn't want to be humbled! lol! :lau I liked my great hatch rates! :gig
July is going to turn around for us! It has to! June was just too sad!
Thanks, I'm trying to figure out what the over all hatch rate was for this batch, I set 30, 3 broke, so down to 27, had 9 hatch, 18 left, 8 of which I am certain are non-fertile. Tomorrow afternoon tells the tail.. I'll be pulling the plug about 6pm. My new incubators count down says we'll be at day 24.

Well, you get to remove the infertile eggs from your calculation of hatch rate...

Yup! The egg with the bruise now has an external pip there. It is cracked outside.

I hope it makes it!!

Since it is malpositioned and pipping in the wrong area, how do I know if and when I need to assist?
