Just posted over in the emergency section about one of the ducklings. I thought it was a wonky leg but looks like some sort of belly injury. I took it from Mom and have it in a brooder for now. If anyone has tips help?

Four out so far!!! Two eggs left. Not sure about one as it's looking pretty squished. One just got pushed off to a side, I candled it and it's still viable so I put it back under mum. If she pushes it out again I'll put it in my incubator.
One of the ducklings I am a bit worried about. It was off to the side and doesn't look like it's walking too well. I picked it up and it doesn't look like the legs are... Quite right. One almost looks crooked if that makes sense. Any thoughts?

Just saw this one! Is the abdomen open where the yolk sac was absorbed?

I thought so initially but it's definitely a wound. Maybe from detaching too early. I can't wait til my hen goes back to being nice to me.

Is it a wound at the umbilicus? Either way, I think cleaning around the outside of the wound would be good, plus keeping the duckling as clean as possible... From your pics it seems like the wound leads into the abdomen? So you want to do your best to keep it free from bacteria and infection...

Yes around the umbilicus. I put some Neosporin on it and it's in a brooder on towels.

Poor little guy!! I bet he’s missing his mama and siblings! Good that ur there for him!

I once had a duckling have his entire intestinal system pop out through an open umbilical hole. I put everything back in and cleaned it properly, and a day later the opening had sealed itself. The duckling grew up to be a lovely drake.
Hopefully yours will be just as lucky!
