After much hatching since last Thursday, nothing was pipped, so I decided to crash the humidity and candle the remainders, thinking that the hatch might be done... 9 late developed and alive, with two internally pipped, the four that are way behind the main group (what will I do with four late keets if they hatch???), 13 that look dead. I took 2 of the 13 out as I was certain that they are gone, but left the rest in as I’ve been wrong before... As far as number hatched? I really don’t even know! 40, maybe? Plus the six incubator keets that hatched earlier and are HUGE!!! I had my keets on broiler starter last year but gamebird starter this year: the gamebird starter does indeed make a big difference! The Six incubator babies, beautiful lavender and lavender pied and looking great, will go to their new home Wednesday. Seven more will be placed on Friday. We plan to keep 10, so... we placed a Craigslist ad that inadvertently really undercut the competition keets! They advertised $6/keet and we had $3/keet... We won’t be getting rich off of this, that’s for sure!!! Pic of one of the many keets that hatched in my hand, an incredible feeling...
