Stupid question, how do I check air cells before I incubate?

By candling the egg.

Just got my eggs. They all made it. And no blood rings. And the air cells look great.

there shouldn't be any blood rings if they haven't started incubation yet... you would only see that on one that started developing and quit after about day 4 or 5...

When you candle an egg most of the time you can see an air cell at the big end and it should not move when the egg moves.

I am probably not going to be able to do the July swap as my Incubator will be full still at the cut off date. I only have one very simple incubator so doing a staggered hatch is very hard to do and I only have 3 hatches under my belt.

For the July swap, I would be good with Standard size, Bantam and other. With the heat who knows what they will be laying.

Welllllll I do have a full one.....but then I have an empty one that NEEDS eggs....LOL
