Isn't it only day 3 now? I thought you put them in Monday.

Trader Joe's is the only store I know of that sells labeled fertile eggs in the dairy section.

If your goal is to actually hatch some chicks start with hatching eggs. Otherwise it just seems like a huge waste of time, energy, and money.

I have a diff bunch of store eggs same people, and they were all fertile, I think what happened is the people went on vacation to Mexico and have some house sitters doing the work, and don't know what they are doing. I can see they load the cartons wrong too.
maybe too much soap. That is okay, I am not wasting any and as far as the clear eggs, my dog will eat them. (it is only day 4).

I have more birds, and eggs for that matter than I need.

I think what I should do it take my time with my new incubator, get the temps correct, and get some trustworthy fertile eggs. It is not the first time I hatched, but I think I was wanting things to run more seamlessly, though.

hhd incubator running at 100 4 days straight. (2 internal thermometers) I have some test eggs in incubator. I will check the test eggs on Sat.

I have a lady with a farm who lives right next door. She had some day old room temp eggs, from her flock of about 50 with 3 roosters on them. I am putting them in a reliable homemade incubator for the first 5 days or so. I bought 20 hatching eggs, for 10 dollars. These are barnyard mix,(roosters vary and nothing separates them) but the white egg hen is a spizenhauben, the large light tan to the top right are australorp, and the green are EE. I had some friends who wanted EE's and I do also.

I like all the colors, but I really like the extra dark green eggs.

day 4?- because we had a black out for one day... 6 brown ones were under a hen, I went to check and one of the dark browns had a crack, and one seemed too dark to tell tan egg. One of the dark green was 2 dark to tell also, 3 of the white were clear, but all the other eggs are developing. I still have 6 under a hen, the cracked is one is removed. The others are in my homemade incubator until day 5 or so. I wanted to give the hen the blue eggs, but their shells didn't sound super strong, I kept the thinner shelled sounding eggs in the incubator. I am going to check everyone and put them in the hhd...maybe.
