Hi, new to this site and to raising chickens! We have six hens that are now almost 2 months old, and since I'm allergic to everything, these are the only pets my kids can have, thus, we named them!
Henrietta, a RIR with the poopiest poop butt problem ever (do they ever outgrow this or will I be wiping her bottom until she dies?)
Clara and Lucy, Black Australorps that I wish we'd named Thelma and Louise seeing how they behave now
Gertie, an Indian Red Jungle Fowl (the runt)
Nellie, a Barred Plymouth Rock
and, last but by no means least....
Loretta, a Buff Orpington who has a princess complex and demands to be petted and held and pampered. She sits on my son's shoulder while he walks around like a pirate with a parrot. I'm waiting for the day I look outside and see she's wearing one of my daughter's Barbie tiaras.
Yes, I understand these are supposed to be farm animals, but we can't help it.
