Just curious? Who names all their chickens and who doesn't?

I name ever one
my roos name- Fred, Bam-bam, roo roo, Howard, Stanely, casper, barny
my hens names- peck, Cheaster, Vanilla, cochin, pebbles, betty, blue, rubby, patty, lacey, sally, dassy, buff, Wilma, gennette.
but I have 9 pullets that dont have names yet

We have 12 chickens and I guess they all have names, but we never know which one is which. They have names like Atilla the Hen, Darth Layer, Hen Solo, General Tso, but the names are subject to change and they're all just called chicken or ladies anyways so the names are just for fun.

This is my first post, I just signed up this evening.

Then we have six little new cochins who are also 2 1/2 weeks old, we haven't named yet...but we are working on it....we have 2 buffs, 2 blues, 1 partridge and on silver laced....we can't keep all of them...we got them straight run...and are giving a few to our friend, just not sure which ones yet. Our chicks are VERY spoiled and VERY much PETS and a few don't think they are chickens....they think they are la dogs! LOL....so we are waiting just a little longer to see which ones are the friendliest and have the sweetest personalities.

Will let you know when we name our newest members!

Hi! I live in West Oakland, CA.. We have 20 hens and 4 one week old chicks (not their "egg" babies since we don't have a rooster, we planted them) hatched by 2 of our broody hens. One of the broody hens is a Buff Orpington (no surprise there) and the other is a Plymouth Barred Rock (Whaa?). We name all of our lovely ladies and treat them as such. It has been proven through scientific studies that naming your animals, whether they be beast, fish or fowl, the lovelies will be happier, much more content and more productive. We have Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Barred Rocks, Buffies, Australorps, Americaunas, Golden Sex Links, White Brahmas, and a rescued mutt or two. BUT, all of our babies (meaning all of

birds are our babies) have names. allow me to throw out a few names for some inspiration... One of the new mystery chicks is almost all black, I named her Sabbath. One of our new chicks is named Mr. Bungle. We have adult hens named: (add "chicken" before or after name as is appropriate) Rubber, Noodle, Kung Pao, Curry, Jerk, Dumpling, Katsu, Buffalo, and Curry. We've also got Buttercup, Cinnamon, Hunka-Munka, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Beauty Eyes! The possibilities are as endless as your imagination! I can guarantee your birds will love you for giving them some special names, and some of them will actually come-a-runnin' when they hear you call for them by name! Good luck! -G
