Just Recieved 200 Chicks from Mt Healthy Hatchery

My first post:

Ordered the bargain #2, 200 chicks 50 dollars, plus 29 shipping. Went to post office at 7am picked them up. The thermometer read 19 in my truck.
I Came home and counted them, saw that they split them 3 ways: 51 Arauncanas, 51 barred rock, 104 Buff Orpington (6 extra). 1 was doa, 1 looks like it'll never walk, others look pretty healthy. I live in North of Greensboro NC, I was a little concerned about ordering this time of year, so far so good.

Start big...sounds like a plan. I am working toward the 2 year mark, and just ordered my first batch of chicks through the mail. Only 102 for me from McMurray's. They are scheduled to arrive the week of the 30th. I am anxious. We'll have to see pics of your babies!!!! Welcome to BYC. This is where all the chickens people live.

Holy fluffy butts! That is a lot of chickens! Welcome...you're in good hands here. Post some pics when you can...you'll love your chickens those three breeds are excellent layers...the arauncanas are probably EE but my EE is the best layer, as is my BO...calm excellent breeds all of them.
