Im not sure if this has been suggested yet or not because I havent read any replies yet. But I would deff report those people who had those chickens in that kind of enviornment. That is discusting and horribly sad. I would consider that Animal Abuse! They dont deserve to keep chickens or any animals for that matter because oviously that cant or wont care for them correctly. If you dont want to get involved just call after hours and dont leave your name or number and give them the info and conditions of where you went.

OK, so I just got back from TSC with something called Duramycin-10. It is an antibiotic and the girl there said to put a teaspoon in the chicks drinking water (which is the size of about a large quart jar). Im hoping this helps the babies. Also picked up some dawn dishliquid. I will try giving them a bath tomorrow.

Wish me luck!!

No, the girl at TSC said this is what I needed, I was like, really? I told her the situation, but she said it was all I should need. Do I need to go back tomorrow? Was this not the right think? Darn!

Treating with antibiotics without actually knowing if they are sick is not something I would do.
But with the conditions they were in I think it may be a good thing to put them on.

As for the vitamins I think you should get them because it will give them the extra boost they need to help get healthy.

Now what I do not know is if you can mix the antibiotics and the vitamins in the same water jug. Maybe someone else can chime in here with the answer.

Those poor babies!!! Truly, I will never understand some people. Buff Oprs are some of the sweetest birds too. I would, without a doubt, report him - how horrible! And if he's righting those Roo's that's just wrong, wrong, wrong.

If you can mix the biotics with the vitamins I would, but if not maybe do a round of the biotics & then switch to vitamins?

to you and the babies.

I hope the chicks are doing well, I'm sure you are taking good care of them. Have you contacted anyone regarding the situation where they came from. Please contact a shelter or county facility soon. The longer you wait, the longer he's abusing animals.
