Honestly, I do think there is less concern about the mistreatment of chickens here. When I lived in Nashville, I noticed it was taken very seriously when people mistreated horses or dogs or cats, but I never heard anything about chickens. SInce then, we have moved to a very small town, where the people here are a bit more, well, I guess "country" if you will. Maybe there is less concern , maybe not, I dont know. Ill find out when all this comes to a head.

Ive wanted chickens for the past several years, mainly just for eggs, but wow, I didnt know they would become my pets. What a wonderful side effect! Pets that I love who will produce food for me! So awesome!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go beat the crap out of that guy and take all his chicks....... okay, I'm probably not supposed to propagate violence on here, so instead at least call animal control and report this. They can at least follow up and make him clean things up or else shut him down and save future abuse.

Also, why would he turn the light off from being too hot? How about spending $3 on a thermometer and moving the light up. So now these wet chicks are going to get freezing cold and all be sicker than they already are. Wow.

Glad you saved the ones you did.

The trouble comes when lack of knowledge leads to miserable conditions for all critters. I work both dog and horse rescue and it boggles the mind how many people in all states have animals but NO Common Sense, NONE ! Looking forward to these 5 living the Good Life !!

I just don't get it. Are these types of people not born with any compassion? Do they really not think how it would be to live in conditions they place on these animals, birds, mammals, etc. in? There needs to be strickter laws inforced nation wide. I realize animals were put here for our purpose of survival and pleasure but people get a GRIP!!!! Doesnt mean abuse. I feel so sick to hear when this happens.

No, the fighting ones werent BO's, but they were multiple colors, and oh so beautiful!! I forgot what he said they were.

I'd report the SOB for having fighting roosters. Last I heard this is illegal

It's illegal to fight them, not to own them.

And here they are on their 1 week anniversary with me;) They are looking so much better, and look a whole lot better around their eyes now.

I am wondering why the little ones dont have thier wings all the way in yet? Is it just because they are younger? 2 of them have full wings the length of their bodies, but the other 3 look like they have "midget" wings! Are they ok? Can anyone tell if the bigger one in front is a roo? Guy said he was a week or so older than the others.
