2 hours into my shift and I'm already flat out of things to do.
Just our resident horse under my care today. I was scheduled for two shifts, 12 hours total, today.

How about practicing your mane and tail braiding skills? Depending on how cooperative your charge is being, that can take a while ... but it's a good skill to have. If I hadn't practiced so much when I was your age, how could I ever braid DD's hair quickly enough for her to make the bus on time? (giggles all around, here ... especially from DD!)

Well Jama, the resident tease mare, is as patient as a saint. She literally stands for everything and does a trick for treats.
She taught me how to put a halter on a horse a couple of weeks ago by literally putting herself in it. I was a dumb ox and had zero clue where to begin.
They cut her mane real short, so no mane braiding. But I can try working with her tail.

I work at an equine clinic that is a popular referral for colic and other major surgeries. Everything is very sterile.

And then my family starts talking about Coco and how I should’ve taken her to the vet... (all this is happening like now..) and so yeah, I’m back to being all upset about her death. Dear family,

I’m so ready to be on my own. Having a big family is sucky (at least mine is), they always find some way to make me catch hell

well Cy I don't know anything about horses, but all I've read makes sense. Only thing I know about them is they can be quite jealous of other humans taking their master's attention.

unfortunately it's a double edged sword. I'm the outcast as I joined the military and left. Last time we were all together was at my grandmother's funeral. I'd been gone so long, it didn't seem real. BTW, her's was a week after Dad's.
