That’s interesting.You never know about some guys . . .he is probably taking his parental guard duties seriously. In Cockatiels, both parents brood the eggs. Eagles too, so why not Mr. Quail?

Right now, only Dylan the African grey in my avatar. I used to breed cockatiels, at one time I had a flock of 11. (In my mobile home)! Bred some chickens in the 80's -- just mixes from the flock I had. We had parakeets in an aviary in the backyard then, too.That’s interesting.

See all those boxes down on the floor? That is because she likes to "free range" down under her cage and chew up the flooring and molding! She says, "Whatch'a doin'?" when she wants down, because that is what I said when I caught her destroying the molding once. Now when she says that I know she wants down to do it some more! So, Costco boxes to the rescue, like a chick brooder.Awww

I've always wanted An African Grey friend. I met on when I was about 13, and have always thought they where the coolest.
Hmm. My now gone Japanese Bantam used to raise chicks until they were about 2 months old, wean them, lay 3 eggs or so and go broody again. She was the broodiest Bird I’ve ever had!
