I never thought of that before.

I was basing it off of this chart. I moved them around again today.

And good point!! Kiki would probably kill me if I did that!!

I think it’s probably not the incubators fault but my eggs. Except maybe my turner.

Lol me too but I’ll give it a go. I marked the eggs. And flipped them over. The X side was facing up so I flipped it. Figured I’d get a turn in now. Also moved the incubator to the other room.

I'm guessing those two white things in the top two corners are your thermometers. ??

Leave them alone for one hour.
Watch them as your bator cycles on and off....for an hour.

Do not move anything for an hour.
Write down the temps for both every ten minutes.

Report back.


Then after that hour move them both down to the bottom two corners and repeat the notes.


Then the third hour put them both in the middle and repeat the notes.


If you don't have at least one calibrated thermometer you are wasting time.

You CAN NOT trust thermometers.

I got a better hatch rate with the ones in the middle near the heat...

Something is not right/good and I'm going to guess it IS something to do with the temperature and possibly the turner.

I repeat.

Everyone has been sharing it around or at least see a few people doing it so I figured it was true.

my first hatch was with a homemade incubator i used a bucket full of water with another bucket inserted on top with holes in bottom of it
i used a light bulb for heat and i had 100 % hatch rate but i only incubated 2 eggs
i would never do that again it is very risky and alot of work

Then your bator probably has a more steady temp right there in that spot.

You can use emus for meat, it's actually very healthy. My grandfather did ostriches for meat and eggs and he sold them to local restaurants... It was big money

I’ll do it though just to see cause I should probably figure my incubator out haha

But it might have to be later today because I’ve got a ton of other stuff to do today and don’t really have 3 hours to stare at it.

At least not now. I mean, I could, but I’ve already wasted 3 hours today, wanna get my day going instead waiting another 3 haha

Although this would be a good excuse to do that.

Also just moved it into another room so it may take a while to stabilize or whatever.
