Well I didn’t fill them just added a bit at a time with a turkey baster. I should probably fill them up maybe?

Thank you everyone!! So should I try to slit the membrane or just add water? And yes @Kiki it made that hole all by itself.
@BantyChooks I’m not really sure why the humidity keeps crashing. I thought I added a decent amount last night but apparently not.

Should I try a sponge maybe? Idk if we have new ones but I can look

Give it 10 more minutes, maybe? If it starts seeming lethargic then yes. Shrink wrapping is something that happens more when they're pipped but not zipped yet.

Yes I do but they’re super hard to get to. I have to lift up the mesh to do it but I think I can just lift up one corner and add it there and it should fill it up. I can only access the outside (biggest) one though. Would that make it too high? It goes all the way around the outside. And should I do anything to the membrane or help the chick at all??

I mean, it shouldn't. That's what those trenches are for. I generally have to fill more than one to get it up to 60%. Your humidity is fine unless you have condensation on the glass.

If you don't fill them completely, then the humidity will only go up for a while, like you saw. Fill it up completely. Deeper water bumps the humidity up no more than shallow water, but it lasts longer.

I like to put a blanket over my head + the incubator when I'm messing with stuff in there during lockdown. Keeps the temp from falling quite so much.
