Kentucky people

@olepackrat - yes, the girls found a permanent home in Lexington. :) I forgot to update this thread.

Are you looking to adopt pigs in general? Or know someone who is? I get a lot of requests to adopt pigs (& other animals) from KY. I could send the info your way, when they come in, if you want.

I would be quite interested in adopting pigs, and am located in KY. I found your original post a little late as well, and had car issues that prevented me from being able to assist. It's wonderful the pigs were adopted!

Hello all...I'm in Clermont County Ohio. I have egg layers and am ready to expand to meat birds. I'm trying to locate sellers of APA standard Dorkings. Hoping someone in the Tristate area may have some. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone!
I live in Richmond, KY was wondering if anyone here has any of the following chickens for sell.

Swedish Isbar - green egg layers chicks/juveniles for sell? I give you more details for how many when I have my game plan in order.

2. Polish chickens that have black body with white head don't know the exact name/s.

Do Polish chickens lay green/olive eggs or mainly just white?

If there's a type that lays green eggs please tell me more information. Names, colors, other important facts/useful information, etc

I'm looking for good green egg laying chickens for my Uncle's farm. Hehe

Sorry for all the questions I'm trying to help my relatives in Mount Vernon, KY find this particular breed of chicken.
My uncle thinks it's a Polish chicken, my research is leading towards the Swedish isbars. Please help steer me in the right direction my fellow Kentuckians.

Would love to see some pictures if interested in selling to me what I'm looking for. Would even meet you if not to far away to complete deal. Once we get all our ducks in a row or in this case chickens hehe.

Thanks in advance -Jon

Hello all, Im in Morehead. I used to to raise Rhode Island Reds, barred rocks, buff orphingtons and royal palm turkeys. As of right now all I raise are silkies. Hoping to add a couple new breeds this spring. Glad to have found a Kentucky Fourum!!

What color silkies do you have? I have some partridge silkies. I also have Cornish x, buff Orpington rooster and 2 RIR hens that I bred to him and have those chicks. I also have some silkie mixes that were suppose to be silkies when I purchased them. So please be careful when you order silkie eggs in Ky. I actually went and met this person in Simpsonville and was told they were silkies. Even saw pics. Just an FYI. Don’t get me wrong they are cute and I love them but definitely not pure silkies. The excuse I was given was that the rooster from her other pen must have gotten in. Well if that is the case it got all 12 hens. It was just a lie. I am looking to purchase some silkie eggs of other colors. As well as have someone come and help me cull some of my meat birds. Oh I also have 2 mallard male and female and 2 adult Perkins and last night I just hatched 3 baby Perkins. I am also wanting to get some different meat birds that will actually help us be self sustaining. We have 6 wolfdogs and feeding them is getting quite costly. Since my husband and I both lost our jobs just before Christmas. :-(.

Right now I have buff and black silkies. They haven’t started laying next yet but are plenty old enough I hope when it warms up they will start. I really like odd or rare birds. I’m thinking about getting some Ayam cemanis, Cochins, australorps, or Brahmas but I still don’t know.

When ever they start laying I would love to have some buff. I also like the exotics. But other than the silkies I haven’t decided what else I would like for show birds. I got my Cornish x’s and RIR and Buff Orpingtons for meat birds. However my Cornish x’s aren’t doing too good in winter. So I am hoping to find some other birds that will work better. Also I got one from tractor supply that had Aspergillosis. Which is sad to watch. But I tried to baby her but I was unsuccessful at keeping her alive. :-( if you know of anyone who has silkies in Ky I would love to know about them so I can order some eggs. Also some Nigerian Dwarf goats that my husband has been dying for for a few years now. But we want to bottle feed it.
