I absolutely LOVE Dr. Seuss - and the Lorax is one of my favorites (I even own the book - it is MINE, not my kid's book

I bought a copy for me).

I thought I would share cause I know other folks on here have kids who might want to watch Dr. Seuss cartoons/movies on the computer

Everybody sing!!!

On the far side of town where the Grickle Grass grows, and the wind smells low and sour when it blows, and nobody goes excepting old crows lies the street of the lifted Lorax....
grickle grass, grickle grass, street of the lifted Lorax, grickle grass, grickle grass.... somebody lifted the Lorax away....

Good morning all, boy do I fell like crud today!! I woke up during the night with a huge belly ache and covered in hives! I think the really yummy chocolate cake I bought at walmart has a bit too many eggs in it

Woke up scratching the top layer of skin off. Took some benadryl and they went away some but I think there are still a few on my face. Guess I need some more benadryl

And yes, I saw that!! It's not fair, I tell ya - people conspiring to tempt me to buy cochins, people offering cochins at a good price, black ones, at that, and then they are close enough I could go and pick them up IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!!! evil evil BYC - get thee behind me Ky Traders thread!!!!

Ok, I'm better now

I'd be on it in a heartbeat if I wasn't so leary about bringing in strange birds right now. Plus, I got two roos - still have to find a home for, or some women for one of them (and a coop, too, sheesh, I need more coops..... Oh, Hubby........

)

I'm thinking that now that I have the incubator, unless it is something I absolutely cannot live without, I'd rather hatch my own for awhile.

I got to take Jon to work in a short while, so I'm gonna disapear for an hour or so, but I'll be back.

Glad to see I'm not alone anymore!

I was feeling like garbage this morning, so me and Cris decided to chill and watch Gremlins on AMC...needless to say we fell asleep. Or at least I did. Not too sure about him! I'm thinking 'no' since he was in bed asleep before 6 pm!!

It usually is on the weekends. I can't figure out how Nifty says that the site is getting numbers of new members daily, but it never seems like there is anyone on? I end up going through the unanswered and recent posts after maybe an hour tops cause there is no one to talk to!

I didn't do much of anything all day. Read some BYC, posted a few things, took Jon to work (still have to pick hm up at work tonight, yet), got some materials around to work on the lean-to some more tomorrow (gonna be around 50 degrees)and now I'm just chillin' and wondering where the heck everyone went to today.

I know where you were, Shelley, and Cindy is at a swim meet, but everyone else (all over the forums) was pretty lax about keeping me company!!!

The colder it is getting, the less work it is to put the chickens to bed at night

. Tonight I had half of them already in, and the other half milling around the open door to the coop, dragging it out til they saw me, then they went right inside. They're suckers for that heat lamp.

Oh, I got an Oprah egg today
lau.gif
- I haven't had an egg from her since August, but the other night when she stayed out, I basically told her I didn't care if she went in or not, since she wasn't earning her keep - so today I have a white egg - I wonder if she understood me.

Oh, I did have some company today - I have a little mouse in my office that likes the space heater - he will poke his head out to look at me if it isn't on, so I turn it on and he hangs out - I'd rather he didn't hang out in my house, but he is sort of cute.

sooooo....... wednesday morning I have to put the orp eggs in the hatcher.
I didn't realize it was so soon. Tomorrow I'm gonna have to plug it in to make sure it is running good for a day or so before I put them in there.

If it comes down to it, I guess I'll put the cochin eggs in there for a couple of days until the orp eggs hatch in the bator - would be easier to lose two cochin eggs than to lose 13 buff orp eggs. I'd hate to lose any, but if I had to choose....

Sorry!! I was reading a cat thread, and reminiscing on my poor babies I had to leave behind...

I think we have finally gotten rid of our mice problem, I haven't seen any in a month or so. Just the occasional chick running across the floor.

Did I tell you one of my baby buttons was in my room the other day? Cris found it. Slick little suckers, I think it's the same one, has figured if it jumps right it can go right through the wire on top of the box!
