Well, my donkey deterent fence is up - not totally done, but done enough to keep them out. We'll finish it tomorrow, mainly needs a few more screws and to have the tops of the poles cut off.
It looks really nice, I'll have to get soem pics when ti is all done.
I'm just happy that they can't get to the coop anymore. The chickens must be happy, too, because they laid me two extra eggs today (besides what I had been getting per day). I looked in one time, when we were working on the fence, and I had three hens sitting in there in three nest boxes, and one waiting in line
.
Miss Celie didn't go in again tonight - until hubby went out to turn off lights for me, because I was on the phone.
he forgot that I had outside lights on the coop, and he was trying to get her to go in by waving his flashlight - like bringing in an airplane. She must have thought he was nuts, because she just clucked at him and stayed put, he said, so I went out and turned on the lights, and she went right in
.
Poor Jon still hasn't called me to come get him - he had to start work at 11:00 this morning - and he has been there ever since
- that'll teach him about the real world, I guess. He has the next two days off, though, so he can't complain. Plus, tomorrow evening is the Christmas Party there, so he gets to eat a lot of food and have fun.
Shelley, I think Monday is out, because I have to do something for a friend (or rather, Bruce has to help him move a stove up some stairs into his house.) But Tuesday ought to be good to go, if that's good for you. If Bruce doesn't do that thing until later in the day, Monday may still be ok for me, I'll let ya know. I'd rather do it monday, because Jon has it off (plus, I want to get the hens with Speckles as early as possible.)
Ya know, when I go get Adam, I am wondering if it would be easier just to go down the Parkway and take 65 up - would add a few miles on, but better roads, and faster to drive. I hate taking the backroads, going through all those tiny towns where ya have to slow down - plus if it is foggy, there's a lot of curves on the backroads.
Well, gonna go -
