Kentucky people

Well I finally got pictures of my animals. I just got done doing "My page", but I am not sure if I have done it right. It just shows the image filenames. I hope that changes when someone looks at it. If not I will work on it. Will have to come back to it. The baby will not let me play.

Meri, I see you were looking for some Delawares. I checked a couple of Hatcheries for you.

Ideal has Delawares for the following.

1-24 chicks are $2.48 each + $1.00 service for less than 1/4 box and $0.12 per chick and shipping charges.

Meyers will ship a minimum of 3 chicks, their prices are:

1-10 chicks are $2.23 each
11-24 Chicks are $1.53 each

Small order charges:
1-15 Chicks $20.00
16-24 Chicks $15.00
Includes upgrade to Express Shipping and heat pad for the chicks comfort.

These are the prices for pullet only chicks orders. I didn't think you wanted straight run or cockerels.

Hope this helps you somewhat.

Meri~~Anytime is fine with me, I'm always here, since I have no life.

Which way do you take to get to E-town? I always take 55 through Campbellsville. The only towns to go through are Columbia, C-ville and Hodgenville. It's pretty open though, but as long as we don't get a ton of snow it should be ok. 65 might be easier, but it is way out of the way. Would probably take you an hour longer to get there, after you figure in driving almost all the way to Bowling Green! Plus it always seems like there is construction between BG and E-town on 65.

I was going to put those duck eggs in the bator tonight, so I candled them. I found another one with a crack in it

So that brings me down to 6

I hope I get more developing than the last bunch. I got 5 eggs, which all developed to a point, but 2 of them died. I still have 3 going strong. I hope they all hatch, those are my Christmas duckies!

She sent 2 goose eggs and one of those was broken also.

I think I might go ahead and set the duck egg that has a crack. I can't feel it with my fingernail, I can only see it. I wish I had some wax or clear nail polish. I'm sure nail polish wouldn't hurt it anymore than the crack would. I wonder if super glue would work? I know this sounds weird, but if I set it with a crack, it probably won't do any good anyway.

Any ideas?

Hey gang, watch the news and the weather reports, we are due to get some really nasty weather starting late Monday afternoon.

The last I heard was that they were calling for freezing rain, sleet and possibly hail. Sunday is supposed to be very windy as well.

I'm still waiting on a dozen Cayuga duck eggs that should have been here today. The mailman will probably get here early so the eggs can hang on the post for a while. I just hope it's the mailman with the blazer. If not the other one has a ranger, and the packages sit in the back of his truck. They will get really cold riding around in there!

I just saw the latest weather report and even though the weather is supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow, they are now calling for rain to start tomorrow afternoon around 3:00PM.

I'm gonna have to take the bus if this is bad on Monday and Tuesday because I have two Dr. appointments to go to and I can't drive the car in bad weather because my windshield wipers quit working. Jeez!

Thanks, I checked out a few hatcheries, too. If I do order, it won't be til spring - I have to get the ones I have in my house out of here, before I dare bring in more

I just spent $715.90 on it and they wanted another $600.00+ to replace the wiper transmissions and arms.

I think I'll call around to some junk yards and see what they have.

If the Bus transportation in this town was better I wouldn't even own a car!

Just those towns? Not any teensy towns just big enough to slow me down from 60 to 35? (I hate those spots in the road!!)

I'd go that route, if it is faster (and not as far out of the way as going to 65 from the parkway). I usually take 61 north up through Greensburg and the like.

I'll google map taking 55 - that sounds easier, to me.

thanks -

Oh, and no idea on the eggs, if it isn't a bad crack, I'd set it - on the eggs I set the first time, I had one with a slight crack - I set it anyway and it hatched.
