Tyler, sorry to hear about your Mallards. Hopefully you will be able to replace them if you want soon.

That's so sad! What happened to them? Did I miss the post somewhere?

We live over 5000 feet from the main road and the lake froze over so they went down the creek for water and they got on the road and someone ran over them! i have 1 female left they left her behind!

Try to keep part of the ice broken on the lake with a huge rock or shovel. Just so they can take a dip. I know it is hard to do when you have school, but is someone home that can keep a spot broke through by the bank? The ducks can move the broken pieces out of the way as they bathe and drink. We have about an 8 -10lb rock we use in the little duck pool on mornings like we've been having when it is frozen a couple inches, when I can't just empty it and run the hose...Which was really only this deep freeze we had, any other time I've been able to run the hose in the day when it's above freezing or sunny.

But yes I want the full size ones. But I would rather have a young one. I wish I could go. I even thought about going on my way to work. It would mean that I would have to get up early, not get to see my baby and go way out of my way. I dont know if it would be worth all of that.

Otherwise for now you could just buy one of those big black rubber tubs like I'm using, then you can flip it to dump the ice and refille it with lukewarm water. They make them pretty large.
