I'm gonna try to get hubby to go to TSC today - I want to get another bator, cause I have staggered hatch in one of them I have now, and I want one for hatching when these get ready (end of the week - actually would be Wednesday for putting them into a hatcher).

That's cool, I always get too many males. I'm pretty sure the two orps I hatched are both males

I may keep one to use as a flock roo later this fall, the other one will have to go.

Dad has 2 or 3 buff orp girls if you would be interested. That would give me less mouths to feed.

are they pure buff orp? I would be interested, actually

how much does he want for them and how old are they?

He has 2 or 3 that are pure, and 3 or 4 that are mixed with something. They are about 3 or 4 months old, I don't know what he would want for them. He is at church right now, so I'll ask when he gets home. He sure doesn't need them!

Are these your own birds eggs? How long do your buttons have?

yeah, all of them out of my own birds, I figured to just hatch some brown egg layers for the auction. They are a mix from Mr. Speckles's pen and George's pen. I have quite a few button eggs in, I put them in a few days ago. I have maybe 10 or 12 button eggs in there.

Cool, I'll probably set the ones I have of mine right now, before I send any for the swaps. Just to make sure. I wonder if you can see a bullseye on button quail eggs?

Well, I cracked one open and found a bullseye, so I figured I had a good chance that all of them were fertile. Although one of them is a smaller "first egg" I tossed it in anyway - I don't expect it to hatch, but ya never know.

Cool! I have one that they decided to go stinky on, so I'll go and crack that one, though with as many boys as I have, I doubt they would not be fertile!

brb gonna go ask hubby if he plans to drag his sorry butt out of bed sometime soon - he stayed up til 4 AM watching some movie.
