Cindy may have lost power, I saw a few branches down off trees on my way into town earlier, and a friend of ours just called and his power is out.
I didn't have any problem getting into town to take Jon to work, but I imagine it'll be worse picking him up tonight after it all re-freezes.
I'm tempted, if it is too bad getting out of our road, to call the motel and tell Jon to go there (a short walk) and stay overnight and I'll pick him up tomorrow morning. We'll just see how slick it is getting out of our backroad, first.
I made the best roast cabbage tonight !!! I cut it into fourths and put butter on it and salt, pepper and a tiny bit of garlic, then roasted it in a roasting pan. It would be great grilled this way, too, in foil. The butter really made it taste rich and good and crispy on the edges mmmm.
Those silly ducks did not want to go inside tonight. I now have a large puddle over by the steps that go down to the lower coop - and they figured it was their pond. The puddle is easily 6 foot diameter and probably 8-9 inches deep in places. They loved it - had to have hubby help me chase them down by the coop to shoo them inside. Bossy complained the entire time. I'm such a meanie
poor girl. She kept swimming out to the middle, not realizing that it was deep for her, but not too deep for me to walk right into
she was not a happy duckie.
well, gonna go check weather and cruise BYC
