I did call him, but I never did get around to asking him. That man can TALK!!

He and FLOWERPOT are supposed to be coming down next
Wednesday to get the others. They are so cute!!

Cristian keeps wanting to go and pick them up. I'm really hoping he doesn't kill any of them before they can go to their new homes!

Did you open your other goose eggs yet? I can't believe only one of them hatched, but that seems to be your style with waterfowl, huh? That's how it is working out with me and chickens, hopefully my broody Gretta will have better luck than I have. She is setting on 10 golden lakenvelder eggs that are due on Friday

I can call him again, after I get my homework done, or I can give you his number and let him talk your ears off!

Let me know.

There is no way that dad would get up that early to go to the post office!! We got there around 10 I think, which is pretty early for us! I checked them at the P.O. to make sure everyone made it, OMG!! It was so adorable!
love.gif
I took the top off the box, and they all popped their little heads up and were peeping at me! All the way home, there was one that just would not stop nibbling on my finger, or arm, or a shiny thing on my pocket...I can not believe how cute baby geese are!!

Yeah, Lucy Goose is a big lover - I pick her up and she snuggles right into my arm and hand.

did ya get my PM and did ya see I said it's ok to PM me Chuck's number?

Oh My Gawd!! I think I'm going into Diabetic shock over the overload of sweetness in my hatching room!!!

Lucy has been all alone since she came out of the shell yesterday morning - so I picked up Fred and Ethel this morning, got home and put them into her big bin and she ran over to them so excited, they all started preening each other like they were long lost triplets or something
lau.gif
They snuggled down into the "nest" and chatted away for a solid 10 minutes, preening and nibbling each other. Lucy is smaller than Fred and Ethel, but she'll catch up pretty quickly.

I'll definately get some pics later. I'm so glad I got the other two - Lucy is simply in heaven to have a couple of buddies to hang with.

I've just had about 12 new hatches so far today. I should have candled them sometime but didn't get around to it so I probably have a lot of non-developing eggs in the bator. Maybe I'll look tonight.

Where am I going to put all these chickens? Tomorrow has got to be processing day. Gotta make room.

Nine roos out of 11 hatched barred rocks. I still cannot get over that. I really need to learn how to cook. They are hungry man meal size right now.

My 5 white feathered pigs are almost full size at just over 6 weeks of age. I'm glad I only have 5 as they are creating quite the mess. Finally had to seperate them from the Barred rocks which are about 2 weeks older and now smaller than them.

I'm getting too many eggs now Have been giving them away. need to start selling them to help with the feed bill.

well, it's officially summer, folks ----

I was sitting out on my porch and a hummingbird buzzed through, so I figured I'd put out the feeder for them (didn't think to see them quite this early) and as I'm standing their trying to up-right it to hang it, he comes back and hovers a foot from me, waiting - he must have been hungry

The hummers are back - that means summer

That is funny, he must be starving to risk being so close! I think all the free ranging chickens keep the birds at bay, dad said last spring the yard looked red from all the cardinals, and I haven't seen one yet.
