what did ya think I meant? LOL

here in Chickenville we dont pay for someone else's health care
wink.png
you pay for it yourself, or you learn to medicate yourself

(I don't believe in paying for someone elses lifestyle choices - only my own)

that being said, I am a pretty decent naturopathic doctor.... even if I aint got a degree.

I think she was pointing out that it should have been Public and not Pubic (as in genital area)....

I could live with the amenities and rules in Chickenville.... I think that is what the good ole USA was built upon in the beginning..... but now there are WAY to many rules and regulations....

What ever happened to common sense?? Why do you need to put a warning on a cup of coffee to say "Caution, contents hot"??? I just don't get it..... of course we all pay for stupid people now...

Meri - don't kill Mookie... he's much too lovey-dovey..... Kill Ike.... He's a Baaaaaddddd man.

Ever sence It started cooling down it has got quiter on here

probably everyone is trying to winterize their coops and farms.

I know we have been - we just got another 10 ton load of gravel yesterday for more gravel work.

Plus, I have been on Facebook a lot - it's easier talking to my kid in chat window than on the phone (he rambles and gets distracted easily
gig.gif
talking on the phone to him is near murder - but I love him anyway). With chat he can ramble all he wants, and it just seems normal for a chat window.

My other kid may not get to come home for Thanksgiving like he planned (Jon, I mean) but it's ok if he can't cause He got a JOB!! finally. It's only part time, but it's 8 bucks an hour and he hopes the hours will pick up soon. He's been up there since June and he is just now finding anyplace that is hiring. Good thing, he was running low on his bank account, he'd have had to come home soon if he didn't find a job.

They have to put warnings on them, because too many people have gotten lawsuit-happy. They got sued because someone, being stupid and spilling their hot coffee on themselves, blamed the restaurant. Rather than get sued again over some other idiot, they put that on there to save their own butts. But I don't know if it would do any good. You can post a sign at your house saying "Caution: Beware of dog", and if some idiot comes on your property and gets bit, it's still your butt that gets in trouble.

Shelley I PM'd ya.

Well, Bubba is in Da House.

Poor guy is looking and acting really funky - I gave him a shot this morning, and he isn't much better tonight, so I brought him in for more meds. If he is feeling a "little" better tomorrow I may not be able to catch him for a second shot
gig.gif

I hope I can get him over the funk. I think he has dry pox (just a tiny bit) one of the other hens looked like she had it, but I wasn't sure - she only had one spot on her comb - he has one spot, also, but he is acting dumpy, too, so he got some LA200. The other hen cleared right up, so I don't even know for sure she had it - never acted sick, so I never gave her anything, just watched it closely.

He was freaking out until I started to pet him and stroke his waddles (no dirty thoughts, guys

) then he almost fell asleep in my arms.

I can't afford to lose Bubba - where am I gonna get a decent Buff Orp rooster this time of year? And he is pretty and sweet, I want to keep him - not get some strange chicken. Hopefully he'll be doing better in the morning. I told Hubby that I can't make any promises that if he is feeling better he won't crow

.

The good thing is he is hefty and has a lot of weight to him. He has only been acting funky today and maybe last evening.

Bubba is doing great this morning - not 100% but he should be by tomorrow morning. He is VERY anxious to get out of the house and back to his girls. I gave him another shot this morning and that should be the end of it. I'll just throw some vitamins into the water out there in the coop for everyone to boost them a little bit.

I love that I finally learned to give a chicken a shot - it is so much more accurate (and effective) than trying to get them to drink the medicated water, not knowing who drank the medicated water, etc... I can pick whomever is acting funky and fix them right up in a day or two. I think he got one of the fowl pox sores right by his eye, because it had swelled a bit, and today it is down and I can see it had been sore (has a black scab). The good thing is that fowl pox is a one time deal - once they get it they don't get it again, I believe.

Yea Bubba!!!

My new Aracuna roo has finally found his Mo-Jo... I was worried that Big Boy Red was a dud....

He's now out there strutting his stuff but not crowing... Not sure if the other two roos are just more vocal. I have a cute little banty roo that thinks he's God's gift and a Show Girl that is a little bully.... The Show Girl doesn't even like it when the ducks mate... go figure... I need to get him some girls of his own.... This time I'll stay away from white silkies...

I've decide to tell myself that my pygmy does are not prego but just fat... this way I won't hover and worry when babies are to be born.... I've got the name and number of a lady that has a blue eyed pygmy buck that I'm gonna contact to see about some stud service and this way I might really find out if they're prego or not....

I really need to get some more goat's milk to make soap, I sold my other girls thinking that the new ones were prego and I'd have milkers..... no such luck. Now I'm down to 1/2 doz bags of frozen milk and it's prime soaping time for my family's gifts and outside sales....

Told DH about The Republic of Chickenville and he would like to know when he can move in and what sort of tactics are you planning to use when the USA sends troops to get their tax money?? Hee hee
