New to BYC. Just moved to a farm in Waddy, KY, but have lived in Versailles KY most of my life. Been just about everywhere in KY for work. Don't have chickens yet, but am looking to buy some as soon as my coops are built. Very excited. Looking to buy Rhode Islands, and Wyandottes and maybe some other standard chickens.

I don't know how far you are from Columbia (Adair Co.), but I have a young group of silver laced wyandottes if you're interested? They are definitely pet quality (came from mypetchicken.com), but they are wyandottes. I'm not 100% sure there is a roo, but one of them looks very rooish. They were supposed to be all pullets, but you know how that goes.

I also have a group of black austrolorps from the same place, each group is either 4 or 5 pullets and a cockerel

My dad also has some older RIR that he will be selling once the young leghorns start laying. The oldest ones will be 2 in the spring, and the others are like a year and a half. There is 1 roo and 7 or 8 hens in those

Okay, I'm done

Well hey Shelley... Been a while since we were on at the same time... I have only been jumpin on n off lately.... Still thinkin of sneakin in a Blue Am roo or a BCM roo this Spring... But if I got a BCM I'd have to get a girl too so I can have the chocolate eggs to add to my mixed up rainbow

My BCM is definitely a girl, and I think both the welsummers are roos. That stinks, but I guess it's better than nothing

I am not going to have a roo with the leghorns, so I'm not tempted to hatch from them

, so I'll probably put the BCM in with them for the time being.

Hey Meri -- DH asked if your Mak was a 380.... he has some ammo for a 380 that he no longer needs.... PM me if you'd be interested in it....

Welcome Farmgirl -- join the chicken addiction!! Now is a great time to build the coop as you'll want to fill it up come Feb for some summer eggs!!! Have you had chickens before?? I was a suburb girl growing up and am really loving living on 5 acres with lots of animals.... what fun!!

Hey Mrs. Turbo -- did you find a freezer?? DH found us one on either Craigslist or Cheapcycle and it is a huge upright cost $50.... so now I'm ready for a freezer cow.... just don't have the fence built yet....

My tuffed pekin drake is really getting on my nerves.... he's been going after the Scovies and the poor dears are terrified of him... he only wants to mate but there's enough Scovie drakes for them to handle and besides King has a Queen to mate with that he seems to be ignoring.... what's up with that?? Anyone want this pair of pekins??

DH said I have to get some female silkies for the two males as the new male was suppose to be a female and obviously isn't since he/she is now crowing and going after the big girls.... Anyone got a few pullets they're willing to part with?? DH wants white but I don't have luck with white chickens... I have a beautiful black and a gray show girl.. which is VERY ugly in my opinion....

I just sold the only Silkies I had available..a pair of Blue Splash. I have some Showgirls in the bator..my first attempt with them I can't wait to see how they turn out. My Turkens are mostly shades of Buff..and my Silkies are Black, White and Blue Splash..could be interesting..lol!!

AM, if you want some silkies let me know, you can have my whole flock of them I have several hens and a couple of roos, I have one white, two blue splash, a couple of buffs, some blacks and then two that are OEG/Silkie crosses, there mom is a blue splash and their dad is my Gold Duckwing OEG Roo. I just don't have the time to devote to them at the moment, as I have enough to do with the LF and rabbits and pigeons and the house birds and dogs. Just bring crates to pick them up.

Unfortunately mine takes 9x18. I actually need some more (there is no such thing as "too much ammo"

), but figured to order some from Cheaper Than Dirt (best price I've found so far). If it took that ammo, though, I'd be on it in a hot minute

Thanks for the offer.
