the old lady in the tub was the worst scene of the whole movie - so nasty, but ya just can't look away.
I can see how it would freak someone out, though.
I haven't seen the remake, ya just can't have that movie without Jack Nicholson.

I'm not sure if I have seen the remake. I just like watching it when they cut out the really creepy stuff! Have you ever seen the original Exorcist? The uncut version? I used to watch the first version all the time. I had gotten to where I knew when to hide my eyes (
), then they came out with the director's cut. The scene when she comes down the stairs on her back but on her hands and feet (if that makes sense!) just freaked me out so bad I had to shut it off!!
I was 6 years old when my sister made me sit and watch Dracula with her (the one with Frank Langella) I was so scared I wouldn't go to the bathroom by myself. She made me anyway - wench!! At this point, not much scares me anymore,
We used to sneak downstairs to watch horror movies on Friday nights after we were supposed to be in bed.
The horror movies that scare me most are the psychological ones. The ones that aren't really bloody monsters - but the kind that freak you out mentally.
I have a hard time finding horror movies that scare me anymore
kind of a bummer, actually.
Horror books, too. Although, when I was 20 or so (and had my first apartment) I read Harvest Home - and slept with the light on for two nights.
Now, the movie they made out of that book was the worst!! But the book is scary - mostly because it's about "regular" type people, being aberrant. (psychological thing again, LOL) I could imagine my neighbors acting like that
.
