I don't think the Modern games get the cape feathers. I haven't seen any in person, but it doesn't look like it from pics I've seen.

Here's a pic I found that looks just like him, her, uh...it.

that does look just like um... him?

I'm still calling "it" Loretta, just because it's funny.

If no one wants "it" I'll take Loretta to the auction one of these days. Someone will want... her/him.

Dad's roos don't all have feathered legs, now that I have went and looked at them. I doubt that they are cochins, he got them from the feed store, and I'm pretty sure they only get the meat birds. He does have a few light brahma hens, but I thought the roos had some color on them? Plus his hens don't have feathered legs either.
I have seen someone talking about one that was a leghorn cross, that was just a number, that the hatcheries breed, cause they are bigger, but I don't remember what it's called. That is probably what they are.
Here are a pic of two of his roos...

Here are mine that I think are austrolorps. Not sure, cause I bought them at the auction, with my game hen.

Any idea what color or breed that little roo in the background is?

And here's a pic of the new babies, just because they are cute!!

Australorps are only black no extra color may be sexlinks or Marans? Maybe your dads roo is a white rock? Check them out on feathersite http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Rocks/BRKRocks.html scroll down a little way you'll see them. What kind of comb is on the guy in the back on that one pick? It may be a silver spangled hamburg if it has a rosecomb.

ETA: I want that black n white chickie on the right...Course with my luck it'll end up being a male and the school librarian will get him...

The one with the two-tone wings??? Yeah that's what I told my dad. I said it was awfully pretty, probably be a roo

The 3 white ones look like dalmations. They all have black spots on them! So cute!!

The roo does have a rose comb, but he is more black and yellow, not really silver.

And i do think they are white rocks. I think his hens are columbian rocks as well, instead of brahmas. Do the white rocks get feathered legs at all? He only has 2 or 3 roos, but one has feathered legs for sure.

I don't need any until spring - don't want to mess with meat chickens right now. Don't have room in the freezer, either, if I'm getting a half a pig next month sometime.

Do your dad's have big breasts? I know the Cornish have bigger breasts, and everyone here (except me) has to have white meat (spoiled brats). Me, I like wings and thighs. Hubby likes thighs, too, but the boys prefer white meat.

mmmm chickens wings on the grill.... wonder if I have a package in the freezer...... Might have to hit Save a Lot when I drop Jon off at work.

But, if ya got big breasted chickens :snicker: then yeah, I'll buy em from you in the spring.

IDK, haven't really checked out their boobies much

You can check them out when you come to get your eggs and chicks.
How many eggs do you want? We were gonna take the extras to the sale tonight, finally talked dad into selling them. He gives more away than anything.

Just let me know when you are coming for your chicks. They free range with mama, so I would have to keep them penned up, or catch the splashes, and put them in a cage. How many did you want? There are 4 light blue that are about 6-7 weeks old, plus two (at least) that are darker blue. I also have one light blue that is 1 week, but can't tell if it's a boy or girl yet

Ok, Jon works 4-close again tomorrow night. So, How about I come over in the morning to get the chickies and eggs (if you have the chickies penned up by then.)

I'm not a morning person - so morning means about 10:30-ish.

Peace -
Meri
