Yeah, I been thinking after this batch of maybe looking at ebay eggs.

I need cochins. Can't live without them.

Marie Martin has a listing for bantam cochins, as well as silkie mixes, plus she'll throw some buttons in for a few $ more...only $13 for the eggs. You should get them, and save me some $$ on the buttons!!

If she has them when I am closer to being done with this hatch, I will if you or Cindy are gonna take the silkies - I don't want silkies.

Meri

Cindy has silkies too? I only have mine cause dad and Cris both like them. I think they are pretty ugly. Well, not now, but when they are grown they are. Especially their combs. Looks like a tumor growing outta their heads!!

Oh, and I guess we are going to Sano after all. Dang furnace has been set at 70 and running all day, and we're gonna go over there and stand out in the rain!! Really bright people aren't we?

He had better take some of his eggs this time, or I am not going!! My chicks will still be here next time, as long as I keep them locked up.

have fun. Too icky for me - in fact, I am hoping it will not be raining when I got to go feed critters.

I have a big pot of veggie beef soup on (made with leftover Stella from the steaks last night) and some homemade bisquits. I'm gonna eat and then hang out tonight and (if I can stay off here, LOL) read my books.

I got my kitchen mostly done - didn't clear off the dining room table

any flat surface becomes a catch all at my house.

sometimes I wonder why I have a dining room table, we never eat at it except for holidays. The guys have to eat on tv trays in front of the television. I tried for so long to convert them, but it just didn't stick.

Oh well.

ETA I wonder if bantam silkies are any less ugly when they get full grown.

Peace -
Meri

I'm not sure, but I don't think there is a difference between banty and standard silkies. I have heard that the banty silkies are bigger than a regular banty, so I think that's what it is. Idk though not sure. Maybe kentuckysilkies will grace us with his presence (

j/k) long enough to set us straight!!

Well, regardless, I don't want silkies - and it isn't just because I haven't seen them in person

I have seen them, still don't want them.

Well, Miss Celie discovered the barn !!
wee.gif

I was afraid she'd freeze this winter, but I guess Shug and Jr. showed her the joys of donkey body heat wafting up through the rafters.

The three of them are currently sitting in the back window of the barn looking at the Guineas running around trying to find them.

stoopid guineas.

I've added another hen to the list of "get rid of". Oprah has got to go - she is so mean, and she doesn't lay that well, so she's outta here. Poor Spazz tried to hop up onto the perch beside Oprah (who was the only bird on the 6 foot long perch) and Oprah got hold of her comb and yanked her right off the perch :o

This isn't the first time Oprah has acted like that. I never did like that hen, only kept her for George's sake, and George has plenty of women now to keep him busy.

Well, gonna go see if I can read some of my book (soon, LOL got to check the hatching eggs for sale forum, first <snicker>)

Aren't they pretty?? If you don't want them, let me know and I'll keep them, but I saw these and thought you would just love to have them, being cochin bantams and all! They are the mottled color, and they are so pretty!

Welcome Farmgirlshelley,

There are actually more than three people who monitor this site. What kind of chickens do you have?

How did you become a member in April and just now post your first hello?

I lived in Berea many years ago for about 2 years. nice town.

Hope you enjoy this site. It has a lot of good things on it.
