Kentucky people

Thanks Cindy, Sorry about your ducks. I think the drake went into shock. It will probably be okay, just never the same when something flys over.

I had a pair of hens I thought were dead after a coon attack, but their fluffy feathers protected one and the other was bitten on the head but the coon's k-9s missed puncturing the skull and just cut along side her head. She lay in the mud and rain until I came back to pick up the assumed dead body when she jurked back to life.

P.S. Just between you and me... I know how Mojo Meri gets her hubby to build more chicken coops for her.

She uses her Mojo. Uh-huh...

Ms. Lewis Rich :

A baby Serama Awwww, where did ya get your eggs?

DipseyDoodleDoo put 2 in with my frizzle eggs. Both the seramas should hatch. Only one of the frizzles made it to the end. Not sure what happened there.

Ok Bluedog, here's some pics of those game roos.
I decided to post them here in case you don't want them!!

First off is mama

You can see the 2nd red one here, he is missing some tail feathers (long story)

The one I thought was all black until I took the pic

So there ya go. If someone else is interested, if Bluedog doesn't want them, make an offer. They will be going to the sale probably next week, since this week will be pretty cold. Probably won't be many people there. (mama is not for sale at this time by the way, I haven't decided if I'm going to keep her yet)

The next one? Our last one went up 60 dollars and we used less heat that month...Our elec. coop raised prices because of some penalty fee they were charged or something. This one will probably be 300.00.

Got any snow yet? We had a good snow shower for about 5 minutes and nothing since.

My BLRW/BCM is starting to look girly so far, hope it stays looking that way, gonna have a flat comb too instead of a single one. The EE has me baffled though, it's comb has a touch of darker pink but not red and is still small, as in no more than one ridge. Hope it's a girl, but as far as the leg size goes it's not looking like a girl, unless they just had big legs. And the Brilkie(Belle and Raouls baby) that watches over them even though she is only a little older is looking girly too.

My electric bill was UNREAL!!! I thought it was just us until I saw folks on here complaining, too. I don't feel so bad, now - but still - I hate to even tell ya how much it was!! (but then, we only have electric, no gas)

so.... I have Mr. Speckles and 6 of his ladies in the top coop - he LOVES being able to go out into the run. My two BA girls were over by there flirting with him when I got home today from the store, and George comes up the steps from the lower pasture and sees them, and RUNS over and chases them away from the chicken run.

Looks like ol' George has some competition and he don't like it none at all!!

poor little guy.

Mr. Speckles IS a handsome fellow, not as flashy as George, but he's a big boy, and I think the bigger girls like that

I still need to swap some more hens up to that coop - but it is cold today, and I had major grocery shopping to do (had to restock the pantry today) so I will probably wait to do it until it is warmer in a couple of days.

I have Diva in her own little cage - she was acting like she was about to die - turns out she was just being harrassed so badly by Roscoe and Flip that she was playing like it. She's happy as a lamb in her own cage. I saw them pestering her, but I didn't know how bad it was til I had her out of there. She's clucking and making a nest in the huge mound of hay I put in there for her (to keep her warmer, since she's alone). I gave her some treats and she jumped on them

- nothing wrong with her appetite, I think they kept her away from the food when they were together. Big old meanies!! I got to get rid of them fast.

I forget how tiny she is when she is so fluffy looking. And they are much bigger - she just seems bigger because of the fluff. Hopefully soon I can have all of them swapped so she just has cochins in her pen, then she'll be safer. At least everyone will be her size, then. On the other hand, it did wonders for her nasty attitude to be picked on for a change, instead of her doing the picking

That's us too, only electric. The bill for last month was $230, this month is even higher. Thank goodness for the energy assistance thing, or we would be in bad trouble!

How big do these cute bunnies get. This one looks like it would fit into the palm of my hand. My grandma raised meat rabbits which weighted 15 pounds or so. I got some large bad scratches on processing day from them.

I don't need any bunnies but my sisters love them and one had a lop for over 12 years until it died of old age then got another. It too has died of old age. I don't know if she still has one or not, she might be interested. Depends on how big your guys get.

They are small, especially compared to the kind you mentioned. Layne has one, a girl and only pet quality, that was wounded as a bunny and is now crippled somewhat, although she still hops around, just crooked. She also got lesions in her eyes when she was in the bunny brooder at the store. Poor thing looks like she's old but she is only about 3 yrs old.
They are the sweetest little bunnies.

Cindy

yes they are small about 2 to 4 pounds

Oh yay!!!

...Now my "Little One" won't be lonely in her new big bird cage. You've got to see this cage, it's a HUGE parrot cage! Gonna try to build a wire floor for it so I don't have to fill the tray with shavings.
