Kentucky people

welcome, vicki! there is a bbq place in corbin that we love - sonny's bbq, I think is the name. good stuff!

you guys do post a lot! I had to go back three pages to find my last post from around 9:30 p.m. last night!

we're debating on what breed to add to our flock. I read the light brahmas are great with kids and they are very pretty. husband wanted delawares, so maybe we'll get both. the dark brahmas are super pretty, too. they sound like they get so incredibly big, tho. hard to believe they're super friendly!

Welcome Tazzy and Vickie.

Estpr, loved the story of the chicks!

I'm getting ready to put my 8 week old pullets outside tomorrow as soon as I get the yard cleaned up from the storm damage this week.

Stay warm and safe everybody!

I have a pip in the bator this morning - I think it is an egg from my Dellie roo and the Brahma girls - we'll see when it finally manages to get out. I'll take pics (I hope that's what it is, I've been dying to see what they'd look like).

The brahma girls are big, but so are the dellies. The brahmas have a funny personality, too. I don't know how the delaware girls will be, but the Brahmas are fun to have around. They are hogs!!

they will mob the coop door when you come out in the morning wanting their breakfast. They'll mob the outside run door when they see you come out of the house, hoping you have treats to share. If I had them freeranging, they'd probably come right up onto the porch like my Black Australorp girls do (they are hogs, too

My chickens are spoiled, though, they know when they see me, I usually have something in my pocket for them.

I forgot to tell everyone about the babies we saw at Sano last night. There were two little bottle baby milk goats there for the auction!! If I would have had more money, we might have come home with one!

They were just the tiniest little things!!

Ok I will just hog this whole page and then I must get to work. I do more chatting when I am at work if youall havent noticed. Anywho let me give you all the low down on my rotten week. I had one moma goat lay down and die on me. She had twins. So I have 2 one month old babies to try to bottle feed. So far they wont take it. Hopefully day 2 will be better. They are eating so hopefully they will pull through. Then to make things worse I lost my frizzle today. I dont know if he was on the bottom of the silkie huddle or what.
