If anyone buys from there be careful that it's not from Fat David and his emo teenager Tyler--they are the ones that sold tubbychicken and I the sick birds last summer. They still post for sale ads on craigslist and they live in between Berea and Richmond. The avian leukosis his birds have is transmitted through eggs and chicken poop.

I know someone that lost there whole flock from there birds!!

That happened to me too because of him! The ones that didn't die I had to get rid of.

Disinfected like mad and started fresh a few months later with hatchery chicks, and so far so good!

Good to know! I always wonder who is who on Craigslist because there are several sellers in that area.

Don't want people to buy sick birds and go through what we suffered through, but also don't want to scare people away from innocent sellers...

I am posting to Kentucky people because I am hoping someone may be able to help with a search, I am trying to help a friend of mine locate birds that he grew up with, in the 80's my friend lived in the area near Ashland, Ky, he went away to College while he was at school his grandparents gave the birds away to a Seed Buyer that was buying seeds from people in the area, his grandfather sold Sugar Melon seed to this Seed Buyer, the birds were given to this man, and my friend doesn't know the name of the seed buyer, the birds that were given away were Black Copper Marans or some call them Brown Red Marans and there was also a strain of Wheaten Marans that came from the Black Coppers, some of the older folks that visit this forum may know who this seed buyer is, and possibly some of you may know who else has these Marans in Kentucky, my friend has searched for years to no avail and all he found out from his family was the birds were somewhere in northern Ohio. I know the original birds are deceased by now, what I am hoping to find is the name of the Seed Buyer to try and locate birds that would have come from these original birds, originally the birds or eggs were brought to this country by a relative and they were either from Germany or Belgium originally after the war and were in his family until the 80's when he went away to school. Any information on the Seed Buyer or Marans that are in Kentucky that could have originated from these birds would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

congrads on the eggs. I am on here this evening too. I had 7 hens this morning and got 6 eggs today. Then tonight I went to lock the chickens and my two buff hens are missing, they always stay together. I am hoping maybe I just disturbed them some, because we was working on the chicken coop most of the day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but wondering what happened, just saw them a few hours ago.

hi folks, I was wondering if anyone else has any of the Light Brahmas breed in KY.. We have had chickens for over 30 years, many different breeds, But last spring ordered the LB and they have been great egg layers all winter long. In the past other breeds usually stoped laying for a time during the winter. The girls are doing great but the rooster may be in the pot soon!!! He's been beating up on the dog...............
