Kentucky people

they changed the snow counts about 5 times today.....now they are saying 8-10 in. for the Elizabethtown area......
Our schools have called off school before thinking it was going to snow and it didn't........yet on Tuesday morning the roads were covered in snow....no delay in school so 2 buses crashed and sent a few kids to the hospital.....not to mention numerous cars off the road. Glad my 2 youngest don't ride the bus and my oldest is homeschooled so we don't worry about the buses.

I just told my husband yesterday that our kids would not ride the bus unless absolutely necessary (I didn't know about the crashes at the time) because I got behind a school bus full of kids easily driving 60-65mph. My three year old was saying "catch them mom". That's how fast they were going! Then he told me about all the bus crashes....

Mrs. Turbo :

What part of KY are you in? I did have to go to town that morning and I was behind a line of cars going 25 mph

I live in Big Clifty, but I was going to Breck. Co. to visit my parents. I got behind the bus on a backroad apparently in a spot where it didn't have to drop off kids for a few minutes, because it was flying!

I agree with you all about not letting your kids on the bus, I wouldn't either if I had kids. I had an experience that scarred me when I was young, I lived way out in the country so the bus driver always went pretty fast and even though I had moved to the front seat right before my stop the bus driver just kept on going right past my house and me being tiny I thought I wasnt ever going to get to go back home. So after that I depended on the taxi of mom and dad

Im in Smiths Grove and my kids were out of school today and we did not even see a flake until about 2 PM. Still not much accumulations here. Maybe by morning..The weather men seem adiment that the snow will fall like they say.

OK already i have had enough SNOW for this year. Someone put a request to have it stop.... pleaseeeeeese. We got 2" - 4" really dry powdery stuff over night and it's still falling. Roads are passable but sure would be nice not to bust ice out of the chicken water. At lest we didn't lose power. The bator temp was a little low this am. Hopefully they will pull through.

Wishing for spring

Your pictures are so pretty!!! I went back to sleep around 11 this morning(not on purpose, it just happened) and so hubby went to let my girls out... That was such a sweet thing for him to do for me because he isn't really a chicken person.
Gave them food and water and collected the eggs too.

mustangruss- Thanks...

Went out this morning and found another frozen chicken in the run... I'm going to go out tonight and see how many of them are still sleeping under the coop... so that brings me down to 40 chickens. We've already been out sledding this morning, back inside trying to warm back up.
