Hello to all Kentucky chicken lovers! I live in Simpsonville, and I have had chickens for 2 yrs now. My first birds were two half banties and an EE. This year I have 15 Ameraucana bantams, a lavender Belgian D'uccle, and a lavender Jap/OEGB cross. I also have 3 EE hens, 4 Iowa Blue hens, 10 Delawares, 10 Dominiques, and 10 Buckeyes. The Dels, Doms, and Bucks are meat birds. This is my first experience with raising meat birds, so I chose three breeds to see which birds did best for me. I have my birds in two different tractors that I move every day. I went to my first show recently, the one that was in Shelbyville on May 17th. I walked in and was hooked immediatly! Thank goodness my husband decided not to go because I endede up spending something like four hours there! I would walk down one row after the other, and when I got to the end I started over again. I just couldn't get enough. Before I left I joined the Kentuckiana Poultry Club.
