Kids and weird eating habits

One of my 2y/o twin nephews, if you try to hand him a piece of food, will not take it with his own hand, but expect you to put it in his mouth. My husband offered him a piece of food on his flat open hand expecting nephew to pick it up and eat it... Nope, nephew bent down and mouthed the food off husband's hand like an animal would.

Ohhh... lord... we have a 7yo that is the worst picky eater/whiner/terribly nagger about food ever! So let's say I make tacos for dinner with re fried beans and rice.... He will take one look at his plate and say "That taste's disgusting!" Not touch it or come close to tasting it just "eww", I try not to take it personally so we tell him "take it or leave it, don't care, it's up to you to eat if you don't that's your choice but THIS is what is for dinner" He then will either try the:

"What else do we have" approach, or the

"Well if you make me mac and cheese I'll eat that" and when he get's a we don't have that he pulls the

"I'll call my mommy and she will come get me!"

cool lol bye

then he get's frustrated and finally will try a bite, then promptly spit it out

"It's too hot!, I don't like it!"

UGH .... Iv finally gotten to the point where his little tug o war over control is whaterver-able. We (daddy and I) try to stay strong as a team and stick to the rules and regulation's we have set down. At home he get's whatever he want's whenever. THAT IS NOT HOW WE DO THINGS AT OUR HOUSE.

Teen age years should be fun lol.

If I make something that I know my kids don't like then they can make their own dinner. We usually have enough left-overs from earlier in the week that they won't starve or there is always salad. Neither of my kids like peanut butter which I think is weird. The do love a Resses Cup but that is the only thing with peanut butter they will eat. My son will pretty much eat anything and they both love almost all vegetables and most fruits so I don't have to worry there. We actually have to fight over broccoli and watermelon

One night a week my kids make dinner. Yucky. My youngest daughter takes the "beans" out of the green beans and thats the veggie. The beans

I have a five year old nephew who wants his mother to feed him. He rarely ever feed himself. Saw him eating last year at an event.....his mom fed him pieces of chicken like a momma bird does. However he does help himself drinks.

My hubby is one of those "strange diet" people, stemmed from childhood. He does not eat meat, veggies or fruits.

Man, I could tell you stories of my household... But where to begin?
I won't eat ground meat (tastes like someone chewed it before me-yuck!) and don't like most italian food.
Dani'el doesn't like steak, and has an aversion to many veggies and meat even slightly gamey. Also hates seafood.
Don never (before moving in with ME) ate fruit or veggies or condiments. Just starches, meat, gravy, and pasta sauce. When I teased him about getting scurvy, he looked at me dead serious and said. "I won't get scurvy. I drink Tang." Still won't go near beans or seafood.

And thats the adults! Then the kids...

Both hate tomatoes. Fair enough, I used to hate them too. The older one always wants pineapple pizza. No matter the restaurant, fits ensue if they don't have it. Little one lives of grilled cheese and broccoli. All other preferances seem to vary day by day.

At our house, it is eat what's for dinner, or don't eat dinner. We make sure there is always at least one thing each person will eat, if not enjoy. But there is no option of getting special dinners. The kids will learn to eat it all. They are already better than their dad (who has accepted salad as a food, much to his mothers surprise!) though he is getting better too. The guys left ME in charge of making everyone eat better.*sigh* It is a constant struggle.

I would guess that the child is fed, not allowed to feed itself. Sad. And will delay development.

five, and still being fed? wow, now that's sad, how's he ever gonna learn to get around in the world? is his mother overprotective/overmotherly or he just wants her to do that for him and hes spoiled and she does? either way, she better stop that, and soon, he's never gonna learn to fend for himself, thats sad.

*edited for spelling/grammar* lol
