Every Good Friday, my family does a yearly pilgrimage to the Italian Bakery in Phillie to get our Easter treats. We've done it, believe it or not, for 100 years! With Covid, this was the first time ... EVER ... that we missed it , and everyone has been in withdrawal. I mean, we still had our homemades, but NOTHING tops Termini's!
On his way back from delivering some train stuff to a buddy, DS "swung by" Phillie to make an appointment at Termini's Bakery. Swung by - as in 45 minutes out of his way - into the hotbed of Philadelphia - and BOUGHT ME PIGNOLI COOKIES!
I LOVE my son!


If those cookies don't make it all the way home, I am NEVER feeding him again!

What did they do? Put worms in? Squish and squoosh 'til it was unrecognizable? Worse?

For my SIL, it was more about the filth. Let's just say that, in a couple of rice dishes, some of the "grains" were moving when they were swept off the counter into the pot ...

Really sucks, because venison is delicious... I'd love to make a stew out of it, now that I know -- to an extent, at least -- the art of stew-making....
