Knitters/Crocheters, need your input

I use the aluminum needles, but when I was a beginner, the yarn sliding on the needle was my worst enemy, lol! My biggest piece of advice would be to keep more than two skeins of any one dye lot in stock. I always end up needing a lot of one color. If you offer the option of special ordering large quantities, I bet that would be appreciated by your customers for larger projects. The local craft store here will not do that, so you must change the color pattern in what you are working on to correlate to what yarn you can get several matching dye lots on. My favorite yarn is "I love this yarn". It is soft, affordable and easy to work with. Good luck!!!!

I crochet. I like BIG Tunisian crochet needles and chunky wool yarn.

Well I don't do either one but I do use crochet hook for my Civil War project....the name escapes me.........its a wooden contraption that has stainless steel nails on top in a circle, you thread your yarn into it with your crochet hook, making cotton ropes. I love it! It is something your great grandmother would have made.

Oh, I do lace bobbins and getting the right kind of thread is very difficult for me to find. I am not crazy about using DMC threads for lace work.

bamboo crochet hooks, if you can get them let me know, i have one and love it, Susan Bates have great hooks, they have size 7, a hard to find size, I go for natural yarns, cotton,wool, mohair. I try to stay away from man-made. The coment about die-lots, it sucks when you find a yarn and the die-lots don't match. Patterns for stuff thats different, crocheted socks for one. maybe knitting boards, i can't knit for a darn but been crocheting since i was ten. I'm over 40 now

I am just south of you!! I am a very novice knitter, don't know much, but I used the bamboo ones when I made my one and only thing and was a scarf. I have a friend that is really into knitting...I will have to let her know about your shop.
